My Gear

Finding the right gear for your photography is important if you want to reach your fullest potential as a photographer.

Below is a list of the gear I currently use for my drone photography as well as travel videos.

You will also find a short explanation as to why I chose the gear I use and how it’s helped me achieve the type of photos and videos I strive for.

My Drone Setup

DJI Mavic 2 Pro

DJI Mavic 2 Fly More Kit

DJI Phantom 4 Pro

The P4Pro is my ultimate go to drone for all things drone photography. The sharp image quality and detail it produces makes it unbeatable in the photography space. It shoots 60FPS in 4K which is also an added bonus. No doubt you’ll be able to get some Pro footage with this drone!

The Mavic 2 Pro has been my top drone for shooting cinematic videos.  The dynamic range from the 1 inch sensor and 10 colour bit profile allows me to achieve the highest 4K quality footage in such a small, compact & easy to fly drone. Ideal for travelers!

The Fly More Kit is very handy especially when you’re a travel enthusiast like me who always needs those extra batteries. The bag it comes with is super lightweight and compact. I’ve been able to fit up to 4 batteries including accessories making it the best bag for my mavic to travel with.

Drone Filters

Mavic 2 PolarPro Filter 6pk

Mavic 2 PolarPro Long Exposure

Phantom 4 Pro PolarPro Filter 6pk

The PolarPro filters are an essential addition to my drone kit to take those photos and videos to the next level.

I use the ND8/PL filter on both drones for most of my shots during golden hour to help soften the highlights and bring out more saturation in the colors. The ND4/PL is great for low light scenes and the higher filters (ND16 and above) are great to combat sun glare and manage your exposure levels during harsher times of the day.

If you want to test out Long Exposure shots with your drone, for example – getting smooth dreamy motion blur in the ocean, the Exposure collection from PolarPro is a great set of filters to help you achieve just that.

Highly recommend this brand!

My Travel Video Setup

Sony a7R III Mirrorless Camera

DJI Osmo Pocket

Tamron 28-75mm 2.8 Lens

The Sony a7III has by far been my favorite travel camera to date. It’s got an incredible 24mp sensor that produces stunning 4k video quality, not to mention it produces brilliantly during low light as well.

I pair this up with the Tamron 28-75mm 2.8 lens. It is a great all rounder lens that is super sharp and delivers very usable close-up performance. It’s small & light and comes at a reasonable price!

The DJI Osmo Pocket is also really helpful when achieving  stable and cinematic footage. Majority of my Seychelles video was shot using this small device. It may be small, but it sure packs a punch. You can see why by watching my BTS video by clicking here.

Travel Gear Accessories

LaCie Mini 4TB Hard Drive

Sandisk Extreme Pro 32GB

Macbook Pro 15 Inch

My Macbook 15 inch is definitely my ideal laptop when traveling as it is not only slim and lightweight, but it is powerful enough  to handle editing videos and photos on the go!

The Lacie 4TB rugged hardrives are also my go to hardrives especially when traveling. It has high resistance to most factors such as water, drop, rain, dust, and crush resistance — making it the most reliable hardrive to adventure with.
